Amb. Majidadi Condemns Abuja-Kaduna Train Attack, Calls for Definite Solution

Ambassador Aminu Abubakar Majidadi, the National President of Almushahid Initiative for Transparency and Accountability (AITA) condemns the attack on the rail track along Abuja-Kaduna by terrorists.

Speaking to newsmen in his Kano residence, Majidadi said the terrorists’ act of bombing of the rail track and the attack on train with 970 passengers onboard is alarming, unfortunate and an indicator that no other means of transportation from Abuja to Kaduna is safe and others are safe.

“It is unfortunate that the suspected bandit terrorists detonated a bomb on the rail track of Abuja-Kaduna train and successfully immobilized it without any proactive intelligent reports and actions.”

“Credible sources confirmed the attack to me on Monday night, saying the attack occurred at a point between Katari and Rijana. One of the passengers who confirmed the incident to us said the attackers surrounded the train, shooting sporadically and many passengers were kidnapped.” Majidadi said.

Subsequently, the Nigerian Railway Corporation on Tuesday announced the suspension of train operations along the Abuja-Kaduna route indefinitely following the attacks.

“As a security expert, I am calling on the government and all other relevant authorities to do the needful and ensure that no disgraceful and unfortunate incident as this is repeated.” Majidadi ended.
