ABU-SRC Awards Amb. Majidadi as Icon of Humanitarian Service and Good Leadership

The Students’ Representative Council of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (ABUSRC) has awarded the National President of Almushahid Initiative for Transparency and Accountability (AITA); His Excellency, Ambassador Aminu Abubakar Majidadi as “Icon of Humanitarian Service & Epitome of Good Leadership”.

Presenting the award to Amb. Majidadi at his Abuja head office in Garki on Wednesday, ABUSRC president, Comrade Jibril Idris Kawuje commended Majidadi for his selfless services to humanity and Nigerians as well as his pragmatic contribution in ensuring that the less-privileged and victims of human rights abused have a voice and justice.

According to Comr. Kawuje “We as students of ABU Zaria and the entire institution are here to assure you that we are aware of your enormous efforts in fighting for justice for the common Nigerians and that is why we have come to commend, encourage and award you as “Icon of Humanitarian Service & Epitome of Good Leadership”.

“Sir, it has come to our notice the roles you played in ensuring that Fatimah, the female student from Sokoto who was crushed by a car and the case seemed to have been abandoned if not of your intervention, and also the case of minor who was victim of medical negligence in Lagos that led to his demise. These are few among many other fights you took upon yourself to ensure justice.” He added.

Comrade Kawuje further said “the ABU-SRC meritorious award of excellent as Icon of Humanitarian Service & Epitome of Good Leadership presented to you Amb. Majidadi is also in recognition of your giant stride in youth empowerment, education progress, entrepreneurship, human development and general commitment to the betterment of humanity at large”.

In his acceptance speech, Amb. Majidadi commended the students’ representative council of ABU Zaria for the recognition and honour. Majidadi said it is a thing of joy to see students and young people making effort to applaud good deeds and the fight against injustice.

Amb. Majidadi also commended the management of Ahmadu Bello University for supporting the students in doing what are good and recognizing individuals who are exceptionally doing well in changing the narrative in the war against corruption, injustice and other social ills in our society.

Finally, Amb. Majidadi thanked the visitors and promised to continue to fight corruption and other malpractices in Nigeria. The National President of AITA also promised to support the students whenever they approach him towards making the Nigerian youths more responsible and free from corruption of any kind.
