His Excellency, Ambassador Aminu Abubakar Majidadi, the National President of a popular anti-corruption NGO; Almushahid Initiative for Transparency and Accountability has called on President Bola Tinubu to partner with indigenous Non-Governmental Organisations in the fight against corruption.
AMB. Majidadi made the call in his Abuja head office during a review of the NGO’s activities within the year so far which according to him corruption is complex and it has many guises and as such the government agencies alone cannot attend to all issues.
‘Corruption is a global phenomenon to be contended with in commerce, politics, and day-to-day life. It has many guises and it’s impossible for the government agencies alone to attend to all cases.’
‘And because of it complexity, the government of the day has to empower credible NGO’S like ours and others that have shown capacity and professionalism in assisting the government agencies in the fight against corruption.’ Majidadi added.
According to Majidadi, in Nigeria and some countries, corruption has become deeply embedded in the very fabric of society. It is for this reason that the current administration of President Tinubu has to engage the services of able NGO’S like AITA in the fight against corruption.
The National President of AITA further said that his NGO’S has gained acceptability and confidence of Nigerians that on a daily basis report cases of corruption to his office and as a professional organization, all cases were looked into and channeled to the right government agencies for further investigations and prosecution.
