The National President of Almushahid Initiative for Transparency and Accountability (AITA), Ambassador Aminu Abubakar Majidadi has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all Nigerians on the auspicious occasion of the independence anniversary of Nigeria @63.
In a message made available to Capitalwatch Media in Abuja, Amb. Majidadi said the independence anniversary reminds Nigerians of the efforts of the founding fathers who unanimously fought for the independence of Nigeria for the past 63 years.
“Our founding fathers fought as one people for our independence regardless of whatever differences and that is the reason why we can celebrate today in remembrance of their sacrifices, commitments and dedication to ensure our political, economic and social freedom from the colonial masters.”
“It is on this reason that Nigeria must remains united as an indivisible entity towards greatness as the most populated black nation on the globe, giant of Africa and as a both naturally and humanly endowed nation.”
Reacting on the current hardship that Nigerians are facing, the national president again called on the government at all levels to urgently implement interventions to assuage the sufferings of Nigerians from every part of the country.
“While we are celebrating this year’s independence anniversary, we can’t shy away from the fact that there is hunger in the land and Nigerian masses are suffering. It is on these bases that the governments at the federal, states and local level must consider implementing programs and interventions to tackle the current hardships.”
Commenting on the theme of this year’s anniversary: ‘Nigeria @ 63: Renewed Hope for Unity & Prosperity’, AITA national president called on all Nigerians to look at the prospects of the country, the possibilities and opportunities rather than the challenges, said it was time to put the country first.
Majidadi maintained that though the country’s journey has been tumultuous and challenging, Nigerians still have the opportunity to right the wrongs of the past years. He added that all hands must be on deck in the task of rebuilding the country, noting that this remained the only way to make the country great.
“With all hands on deck, we can make Nigeria great. We can build the Nigeria of our dreams. Let’s put Nigeria first. Let’s come together to chart a new path for Nigeria’s greatness.
“On behalf of the AITA family, I congratulate fellow Nigerians, alongside friends and well wishers of our dear country across the globe, and wish Nigerians a happy 63rd Independence Anniversary.”
