The All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied striking any deal whatsoever with the New Nigeria People Party (NNPP) with regard to the outcome of the Kano State governorship litigation, which is currently before the Supreme Court.

A statement issued by the state party Chairman, Abdulahi Abbas stressed that the clarification had become necessary given the rumours being peddled by the New Nigeria People Party (NNPP) to the effect that they had reached an understanding with President Bola Tinubu who had agreed to retain Abba Kabiru Yusuf as governor on the grounds that he decamps to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The chairman maintained that there was no such deal or any meeting held with President Tinubu or with any leader of the APC while observing that President Tinubu was a democrat who would not be part of any arrangement to subvert justice or to support a group of people with stolen votes.

Abdullahi noted that as a party, they are collectively looking forward to the Apex court and would mobilize all legitimate efforts to pursue the case before the Apex court to its logical conclusion.

He expressed optimism of their victory at the end of the day given the convincing evidence they had presented at the tribunal and at the appeal court.

He also noted that Kano State was peace and residents were going about their businesses without fear, insisting that the purported tension and anticipated crisis in the state were creations of fiction by the NNPP and their supporters.

He pledged that when they assume office, his party would ensure a peaceful and harmonious relationship with all ethnic groups and nationalities resident in the state while urging party members and Nigerians in general to ignore the huge propaganda and outright provocations by their opponents.
