Supreme Court Judgement: Idris incites opponents to join his administration as crowd welcome him

Kebbi State Governor Dr Nasir Idris has invited members of the opposition parties to join his administration after the period expired of the litigation at the Supreme Court.

A large crowd welcome Governor, Idris to the state capital after his victory at the Supreme Court on Sunday.

The Governor who arrived Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport at about 11:00a.m. was received by a large crowd of people comprises of APC State Executive, Cabinet members, artisans, union’s leaders and supporters who organised the rally from the Airport to Birnin Kebbi to welcome him.

The supporters also used horses, donkeys, vehicles, motorcycles and Keke NAPEP covered about eight to ten kilometres from Airport to the terminating rally point.

The governor could not reach Haliru Abdu Stadium, Birnin Kebbi, where the rally was scheduled to terminate to deliver his speech until about 6:30p.m due to traffic.

While addressing his supporters at the Stadium, Governor Idris call on the opposition parties to join hands with him to bring positive development to Kebbi.

According to him, “time for litigation is over, I want to appeal to opposition to come over so that we can collectively move the state forward. We have no other state than Kebbi, therefore, we have to do everything possible to develop it.”

The governor promised to spread tentacles to search for means from within and outside Nigeria to bring development to the state, assuring that the good works started by his administration was just the beginning of good things that would happen during his stay as the Chief Executive Officer of the state.

Idris pledged to do more in tackling the issue of insecurity affecting some areas in the southern part of the state, recalling that the his administration’s efforts in doing such was yielding positive results.

While soliciting more support from the entire people of the state, the governor assured that people’s efforts would never go in vein.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman in the state, Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru, said the party would organise a ceremony to present an award to the governor, insisting that “the award is the first of its kind in the history of the party.

“This award is in recognition of his giant efforts to bring positive transformation to the state and we believe His Excellency, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu is the only person that deserves this award,” he said.
