Security is all-encompassing as such it requires all and sundry to come together in fighting the menace that is ravaging our country, as universally agreed that security is everyone’s business so what is needed is a collective effort by both the citizens and the government.
Al-Mushahid Initiative for transparency and accountability, a prominent non-governmental, non-partisan and non-profit organization is therefore calling on president Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a matter of urgency to take immediate steps and actions to address the nagging security issues in the country and Abuja the nation’s capital in particular.
Recent kidnapping and other criminal activities especially in the nation’s sit of power have become very frequent, consequently inserting fear and uncertainty amongst the people living in and around the tertiary and its environs.
The call on president Tinubu to be proactive in the fight against insecurity was made by the national president of AITA Ambassador Aminu Abubakar Majidadi who said that the government should put more emphasis on security as captured in its manifesto so that concrete steps can be taken to protect the people and put a stop to the reoccurring problem.
He further urge the president to take concrete immediate steps in order to restore safety and peace in Abuja and Nigeria at large as resident now live in constant panic especially in the federal capital territories border communities.
He appeal to the president to demonstrate strong and decisive leadership which he has shown since his inauguration in the fight to end insecurity that is bedeviling the country, saying the people of Nigeria and residents of Abuja deserve to feel safe and secure in their homes and communities.
He also call on the citizens to be observant of their immediate environment and report any suspicious activity to security operatives as all hands need to be on deck in fighting the insecurity situation we found ourselves in as a nation.
