The First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, has officially unveiled the National Unity Fabric, a symbol of national cohesion, via her X handle. In her statement, she expressed immense joy, noting that the fabric represents the nation’s unity and diversity.
Tinubu said, the initiative for the fabric was inspired by her visit to Zimbabwe in 2023, where she encountered a similar concept. Upon returning, she introduced the idea to the Renewed Hope Initiative, and it has now come to fruition through the creativity of young Nigerians.
According to her, the design, created by Miss Bamidele Mofiyinfoluwa, reflects Nigeria’s diverse cultural heritage. According to the First Lady, the fabric will be proudly worn during Independence Day celebrations and other national events, serving as a reminder of the nation’s collective strength and unity.
