In a significant blow to illicit drug trafficking, the Nigeria Customs Service, Niger-Kogi Command, has intercepted and handed over 283 wraps of cannabis sativa to the Nigeria Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Minna.

The estimated duty-paid value of the seized cannabis sativa stands at a staggering ₦5,666,000.

Comptroller Pascal Chibuoke of the Niger-Kogi Command briefed the press on the command’s activities over the past four weeks, highlighting the successful seizure, and detention of nine units of vehicles with a cumulative duty-paid value of over ₦170m, Chibuoke praised his team’s resilience and doggedness, assuring that the command will continue to reward officers who excel in their duties.

Receiving the cannabis sativa on behalf of NDLEA, Niger State Commander Shehu Gwadabawa expressed gratitude for the inter-agency collaboration, emphasising the importance of joint efforts in combating illicit activities.
