The National President of the Al-Mushahid Initiative for Transparency and Accountability (AITA), Ambassador Aminu Majidadi, has expressed profound sorrow over the death of Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, extending heartfelt condolences to his family and the nation.
In a statement released on behalf of AITA, Ambassador Majidadi described the late General Lagbaja as a man of valor and integrity whose distinguished service to the nation embodied patriotism and commitment to national security.
He noted that General Lagbaja’s leadership in the Nigerian Army played a pivotal role in addressing internal and external threats, adding that his service would remain a model for military and civic duty.
“This loss reaches beyond his immediate family and colleagues; it is a shared sorrow for every Nigerian,” Ambassador Majidadi remarked. “Lt. Gen. Lagbaja was a beacon of hope, commitment, and discipline. His dedication to Nigeria’s peace and security stands as a testament to what true leadership entails.”
Ambassador Majidadi further conveyed AITA’s deep condolences to the Nigerian Armed Forces, urging the nation to honor Lt. Gen. Lagbaja’s legacy by continuing to uphold the values of integrity and sacrifice that he so exemplified.
“We stand with his family, the Nigerian Army, and all Nigerians in mourning this great loss. May his exemplary life and service inspire future generations, and may the Almighty grant his family the fortitude to bear this profound loss,” he added.
He further stated that, AITA joins Nigerians in praying for the repose of Lt. Gen. Lagbaja’s soul, acknowledging his irreplaceable role in advancing the country’s defense efforts.
