The National President of Almushahid Initiative for Transparency and
Accountability (AITA), Ambassador Aminu Abubakar Majidadi described the former Inspector General of Police, Chief. Sir (Dr) Mike Okiro as an Icon and a role model to many Nigerians, also a Nigerian believes in one Nigeria and served the Nigerian Police faithfully, and contributed immensely to its transformation.
On Sunday, during the birthday commemoration and a special female football match in honour of the retired police boss at the Old Parade Ground (Area 10), Abuja, Amb. Majidadi who served as chief host of the event applauded Sir Okiro
for his tangible service to Nigeria and the Nigeria Police Force.
“Personally, Chief. Sir (Dr) Mike Okiro is my role model and somebody I can be proud of anywhere any day. Okiro deserves to be celebrated by all well-meaning Nigerians because he is one person I know that believes in One Nigeria and gave his all during his service to the Nigerian Police.” Majidadi Stated.
“To me is a privilege to lead other friends, associates and people he groomed and established in making this memorable day a success. We can only show our appreciations, but we can pay Dr. Okiro for what he has done to Nigeria, most of us here and what he is still doing.” Amb. Majidadi added.
The memorable birthday celebration brought together people from all status of life and parts of this country whom in their words described the celebrant as a true nationalist, man of his words, disciplined, hardworking, humble and caring, God-fearing and sincere, etc.
The football match in honour of the celebrant was played between the Police Female Football team and the Catholic Women Organization team of St Joseph
Catholic Church Mukassa in Abuja which ended 3:0 in favour of the Police Female Football team.
