The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja.
In a statement, NOA Director-General Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu described Lt. Gen. Lagbaja as a fearless soldier and a dedicated patriot who served the nation with unyielding commitment. “The National Orientation Agency joins the nation in mourning this exceptional officer who dedicated his life to the service of our country. His contributions to the fight against insurgency and his role in safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity will never be forgotten,” he said.
Mallam Issa-Onilu highlighted Lt. Gen. Lagbaja’s unwavering advocacy for national unity and cohesion, values closely aligned with the NOA’s mission. “We will greatly miss his strategic support in our efforts to promote patriotism and civic responsibility among Nigerians,” he added.
The NOA Director-General extended his condolences to the Nigerian Army, the family of the late Chief of Army Staff, and all military personnel defending the nation. He prayed, “May God grant them the strength to bear this irreplaceable loss.”
Issa-Onilu further called on Nigerians to honor the sacrifices of fallen heroes like Lt. Gen. Lagbaja by fostering unity and upholding values of patriotism, discipline, and selfless service.
