AITA National President Tasks Nigerians on 2023 elections

As the 2023 National elections are around the corner, a foremost anti-corruption crusader, and human rights activist, Ambassador Aminu Abubakar Majidadi ,has called on Nigerian voters to turn out en masse and elect  credible leaders that will make the country a better place for all. Ambassador Majidadi also enjoined the voters to ensure that the elections beginning with the February 25 presidential polls are free, fair and credible.

Ambassador Majidadi who is the CEO/ National President of Al-Mushahid Initiative for Transparency and Accountability (AITA) and Publisher Capitalwatch Media, said in a statement in Abuja  that  Nigerians should not only freely  exercise their mandate at the polls but should ensure they vote  in leaders who will cement the unity of this country, and ensure its development  to be among  the leading economies of the world

Ambassador Majidadi maintained :“The dream of our leaders over the years is to make the country one of the top-20 most developed nations of the world. The time has come to vote in a leader that will make this a reality.”

The National President of AITA   enjoined Nigerians to learn from their past mistakes by voting the right people into leadership positions.

Ambassador Majidadi stressed: “Nigerians must not allow few individuals  to decide their fate  because they can only be achieved  when the masses wisely choose leaders with positive ideologies and who have the interest of the people  of the people at heart., who are not after what the country  can offer to them, but what they can offer to the country.”

The human rights activist equally called for a violent-free election to enable Nigerians exercise their franchise.

He said the greatest threat to elections is the fear of violence. He therefore called on politicians and their supporters to avoid anything that will bring about disturbances before, during and after the polls.

According to him, “politics is a game for which winners and losers will emerge. The most important thing is for politicians and their supporters  to rake defeat or victory in good faith; and above all they  must not indulge in acts that will undermine the peace and security of the  nation.”
