As Nigeria marks its 64th Independence anniversary, the National President of Almushahid Initiative for Transparency and Accountability(AITA), Ambassador Aminu Majidadi, has called for continuous efforts in nation-building, urging Nigerians to remain committed to peaceful coexistence and the development of the country.
In his Independence Day message, Amb. Majidadi emphasized that the task of nation-building requires the collective will of all citizens. He highlighted the importance of unity, especially in times of economic and security challenges, stating that national progress can only be achieved when citizens are united in their resolve to overcome these difficulties.
“Nigeria’s journey through six decades has seen its share of challenges, but it has also been a testament to the resilience of its people. As we celebrate this milestone, it is imperative for every Nigerian to remain calm and optimistic, while also playing an active role in fostering peace and stability,” he said.
Amb. Majidadi further stressed the need for citizens to pray for the nation’s continued development, particularly in areas of security, governance, and economic growth. He called on the government to strengthen efforts towards improving security across the country, adding that without security, the nation’s progress could be hindered.
“Peaceful coexistence and security remain the foundation upon which any nation can thrive. I urge every Nigerian to be vigilant and to support all government efforts in securing the nation,” Amb. Majidadi added.
He expressed confidence in Nigeria’s future and called on all leaders, both in public and private sectors, to prioritize policies that promote unity, security, and prosperity for the nation.
